From the Neuse River in North Carolina to the Duwamish River in Washington state, ESC is a source of technical expertise for community groups affected by environmental contamination across the country.

About

Environmental Stewardship Concepts, one of a few American professional environmental consulting firms to represent community organizations, was founded in 1996 by Dr. Peter deFur. Based in Richmond, Virginia, ESC provides consulting services that prioritize the public good and sustained environmental quality. As technical experts for community organizations that are concerned with both site contamination and cleanup, our services are often solicited through TAG and TAPP grants issued by the US government as well as other state and local petitions for expertise in hazardous waste and site remediation.

Environmental Stewardship Concepts provides technical expertise in:

  • environmental policy and regulations
  • environmental risk assessment
  • environmental health issues
  • water quality protection
  • wetlands protection and management
  • fisheries protection and management

We promote collaborative problem solving through:

  • group facilitation
  • two party mediation

In addition, ESC gives expert testimony for litigation involving human health and environmental contamination and authors reports pertaining to specific environmental concerns.
