This rusted tank on the Fort Ord property in Marina, California is a stark reminder of the number of environmental challenges found throughout the site.

Fort Ord Environmental Justice Network

Marina, CA

Ford Ord, a former US Army base, is one of America’s largest and most complex contaminated site. Solvents, metals, lead in firing ranges, unexploded munitions, TCE in groundwater, and a leaking landfill are among the issues of concern at Fort Ord.

The Fort Ord Environmental Justice Network (FOEJN) is funded under the EPA TAG Superfund program. Environmental Stewardship Concepts provides technical support to the citizens for the cleanup of numerous contaminated areas. Our work includes reviewing reports, briefing the community, submitting comments to the Army and coordinating with FOEJN over strategy.

ESC recently completed a health report for Fort Ord, which debuted at FOEJN’s 2009 Annual Forum. Click here to read
